Blended courses use elements of online learning within a more traditional style course. The presentation will illustrate and examine various approaches to organizing and offering blended courses.

Online programs are becoming increasingly popular. Many schools are expanding their curriculum by offering courses and full programs in an online format.

Practical examples will be provided demonstrating how blended courses can provide significant administrative, organizational and instructional benefits to substantially improve the quality, efficiency and equity of traditional classroom instruction.

Presenters:

  • Robert L. Blomeyer, Ph.D. is President and Co-founder of Online Teaching Associates, Ltd. in Lisle, Illinois. Dr. Blomeyer is an educational technology researcher, teacher educator and nationally recognized expert on K-20 online teaching and learning policy and practice. He is a co-author and contributor to numerous books, articles and educational research examining the effects of K-12 online learning on student academic performance.
  • Caroline St.Clair, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at North Central College in Naperville, IL. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and has piloted blended computer science courses on her campus.
