Flexible teaching guides and resources

In a June 17th message to students, Provost Ingram shared that NIU will offer a mix of fully online, face-to-face and hybrid courses when classes begin in August.  The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) supports NIU faculty as they design and develop courses that can be successful in any mode of delivery. We are committed to helping you create the most resilient, effective courses possible. We are calling this effort “flexible teaching,” and have developed a new resource at flexteaching.niu.edu to support the NIU teaching community.

Learn more about the guiding principles of Flexible Teaching and how it differs from the emergency remote teaching effort undertaken this spring.

We invite you to begin reviewing the three Flexible Teaching Guides that are currently available:

CITL also offers virtual workshops as well as individual consultations on strategies for designing and delivering flexible, resilient courses that can withstand any change in modality or delivery.
