Each year the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) hosts a Teaching Assistant Institute (TAI) to inspire faculty for the upcoming semester.
We are excited to let you know that Dr. Amanda Durik will be our keynote speaker for this year’s Teaching Assistant Institute on Monday, August 16. Dr. Durik is Associate Professor of Social and Industrial Organizational Psychology and Psychology Department Chair. Professor Durik has been studying interest and engagement in achievement tasks for 20 years. Task interest is inherently interdisciplinary, and her research has examined how social, situational, cognitive, and developmental factors play into task experience and achievement. Dr. Durik will discuss growth mindset in her keynote address.
The Fall 2021 Teaching Assistant Institute will feature both synchronous and asynchronous presentations covering a variety of topics on teaching and student support. As in past events, a panel of experienced TAs will also be available to answer your questions in a synchronous session.
Join your NIU graduate teaching assistant colleagues to boost your teaching for the fall semester and beyond!
Mark your calendars for the Teaching Assistant Institute August 16–20, 2021. Registration information will be available soon.
