Featured GTA: Spotlight on teaching and learning

A generic placeholder profile image: a gray circular silhouette of a person on a light gray background with the text “Your Picture Here!” centered across it.We’re expanding our CITL newsletter features to highlight graduate teaching assistants who are using thoughtful, practical strategies to support student learning.

Each month, we’ll alternate between a Featured Faculty spotlight and a Featured GTA spotlight. Featured GTA submissions should highlight graduate teaching assistants who have gone above and beyond in their teaching role or who have used innovative approaches to engage students, support learning, or improve the classroom experience.

Faculty and staff are invited to recommend GTAs, and GTAs may also submit themselves for consideration.

Submissions should include:

  • The GTA’s name
  • The department in which they serve as a teaching assistant
  • A description of what they have done in their TA role to support student learning (the more information you can give us, the easier it will be to craft a deserving narrative for our feature)

Selected GTAs will be featured in the CITL newsletter with a brief snapshot of their teaching practice and a photo.
