Stepping up for students: Fall 2023 Teaching Assistant Institute

Faculty and staff from across the University presented to graduate teaching assistants on supporting students, teaching, teaching with technology, accessibility, and culturally responsive teaching over two weeks, from August 14 through August 25. In 2020, TAI shifted from a one-day program to a week-long, online format, with both synchronous and asynchronous components. CITL has maintained and evolved that longer, virtual format over the past three years, and this year included a second asynchronous week and an optional in-person networking event at Founders Memorial Library. The virtual Teaching Assistant Institute for Fall 2023 was well-attended with over 200 new and returning graduate teaching assistants. Graduate teaching assistants from across campus gathered in our virtual space to learn from the presenters and each other!
