Celebrating 25 Years of Faculty Partnerships 

Over the past quarter-century, as technology has transformed higher education, the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) at Northern Illinois University has evolved alongside our faculty partners to enhance learning environments, both on campus and online. This journey began with the Faculty Development and Instructional Design Center (FDIC) and has grown into the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning we know today. Our success is a testament to the collaborative spirit between our team and NIU’s dedicated educators, working together to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the higher education landscape.

Open House Celebration 

Our 25-year journey reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovative teaching and learning. To commemorate this significant milestone, we invite all faculty members and department chairs to join our 25th anniversary celebration. Celebrate with us on September 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning building. This event offers a unique opportunity to explore our rich history, impressive achievements, and partnerships that have shaped our growth.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with members of the CITL team, experience our Digital Media Studio, and view a photo showcase highlighting our collaborative history. These exhibits underscore our ongoing commitment to supporting faculty pursuing academic excellence and curriculum innovation.
